Granville Bridge is under seismic construction

A public service announcement for you: To keep the Granville Bridge safe and functioning there are some seismic upgrades happening at the moment. Although one lane is and will be closed due to the constructions until February, it doesn’t seem to affect traffic or business, which is great!

And another upgrade is being made. A bird net will be installed above and below the bridge deck to prevent the nesting Pelagic Cormorants that chose the Granville Bridge as their home.  Since Cormorants are protected through the Provincial Wildlife Act, the bird net is necessary to protect the birds and their eggs from noise and potential visual disturbance.
