BC based liquor store to donate over $20,000 to local food banks in a challenging season

Vancouver, BC — Over the weekend, JAK’S guests across BC stocked up on their favourite summer beverages and made a difference doing it. Thanks to a high level of support, JAK’S Beer Wine & Spirits will be cutting cheques for local food banks across BC with a total donation of $20,107.

On June 22 through JAK’S Gives Back, ten percent of sales from all 14 locations across BC are going to support local food banks where JAK’S has a location including: the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, the Richmond Food Bank, SHARE Food Bank in Coquitlam, Friends in Need Food Bank in Maple Ridge, the Campbell River Food Bank, Williams Lake Salvation Army Food Bank, and the Penticton Salvation Army Food Bank.

“Our guests came out to support JAK’S Gives Back in a big way with many saying they waited until Saturday to stock up on their favourite summer products to support their local food bank,” said Tim Dumas, Director of Sales and Marketing at JAK’S. “Our team is so proud to support food banks in the communities we operate in across the province, especially during their challenging summer season when donations are down significantly and demand remains the same.”

“The Greater Vancouver Food Bank is extremely grateful to JAK’S for donating 10% of sales from six of their locations in our catchment area! The GVFB has locations in Burnaby, New Westminster and Vancouver where we serve 7,000 people each week,” said Cynthia Boulter, Chief Development Officer, Greater Vancouver Food Bank. “The support of our communities means the world to us, and fundraisers like JAK’S Gives Back not only raise much needed funds, but they raise awareness about the ever-increasing need for food support across BC. With our 3:1 buying power, JAK’S donations will triple in value when we use them to purchase healthy, nutritious food for our clients.”
