South Granville Station Announcement
The six new underground stations for the Broadway line were announced on September 18, 2019. The South Granville location will be located, as previously leaked at the RBC location on the North East Corner of Granville and Broadway.
A detailed map showing station entrances, as well as nearby properties that will be used as construction storage and staging areas, is available.
Once completed, all stations will be accessible by bus, walking and cycling. More information will be shared about station design and construction once the contractor, which will design and build the project, has been selected in mid-2020.
Construction Storage and Staging Areas
The project is obtaining a number of properties adjacent to station entrances that will be used as work and storage areas to support construction of the underground stations. Using these properties along Broadway for construction purposes will help keep construction activity off Broadway and adjacent streets as much as possible, to mitigate disruption and manage safety for traffic, pedestrians and cyclists.
All six stations will be located underground, including station infrastructure such as platforms, escalators and elevators.
Above ground, the project will construct station entrances that passengers will use to access the underground stations. Outdoor plazas, fare gates, indoor and outdoor weather protection, and other facilities such as bike parking will be at street level.
