Starbucks Expedites Transformation Strategy
The pandemic has expedited coffee juggernaut’s business model and plans of restructuring. The Seattle based coffee company decided to close up to 300 Starbucks locations throughout Canada, after assessing their physical footprint in North America. Their new concept includes pick-up only, drive-thru or delivery only locations to meet their customers’ needs of today.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this 5-year transformation strategy started early and led to the closures of former Starbucks locations in South Granville at 7th Avenue and close to 11th Avenue. The Starbucks at 2505 Granville Street is open for business.
