Celebrating the Lunar New Year of the Snake

‘Flow of Light, Spirit of the Snake’ by the WKNDRs

South Granville’s Lunar New Year celebrations are back, and we’re inviting local businesses to be part of the excitement. This year’s festivities promise to draw crowds and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Lunar New Year.

Year of the Snake Installation: ‘Flow of Light, Spirit of the Snake’ by the WKNDRs
January 15 – February 17 | Granville St x 13th Ave Plaza

We’ve partnered with local art collective WKNDRs to create an immersive installation that brings the energy of the snake to life. This display celebrates tradition with a modern twist, inviting everyone to enjoy the neighbourhood and connect with Asian culture and Lunar New Year celebrations.

Lion Dance Parade: A Neighbourhood Blessing
February 8, 11:00 am | Starting at Granville St x 14th Ave Plaza
The Bak-Mein Kung-Fu Club will lead a vibrant lion dance performance, bringing blessings of prosperity and joy to businesses across the neighbourhood. Last year, over 300 attendees came to celebrate, making it a day to remember!

This is more than just a performance—it’s a chance to be part of a cherished community tradition and bring good fortune to your business for the year ahead.
