LATEST CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

  • Please note that the works that are having a higher impact on traffic east of Fir Street should be completed in the next few months.  These works include:

    • Complete curb, sidewalk and asphalt construction of the southeast corner of West 5th Avenue and Fir Street

    • Complete curb, sidewalk and asphalt construction of the northeast corner of West 5th Avenue and Fir Street

    • Install new trolley and traffic signal poles on the east side of Fir Street at West 5th Avenue

    The City regrets the inconvenience to SGBIA’s businesses and customers.

  • There are other works that will occur over the next 6 to 8 months that are expected to have a lesser impact on business access:

    • Complete curb, sidewalk and asphalt construction of the southwest corner of West 5th Avenue and Fir Street

    • Install new trolley poles and traffic signal poles on the west side of Fir Street at West 5th Avenue

    • Install new traffic markings and signing on West 5th Avenue and on Fir Street

    • Install new traffic signal arms and traffic signal heads at West 5th Avenue and Fir Street (all 4 corners)

    • Install a new electrical power kiosk on the north side of West 5th Avenue west of Fir Street

    • Install a new traffic signal controller on the south side of West 5th Avenue west of Fir Street

    • Install new asphalt bike paths and concrete sidewalks on the north side of West 5th Avenue between Granville Street and Fir Street

    This is located in the former “SB Granville to EB 4th Avenue” offramp area
